The program resides at aPATH facility meeting the highest standards for programs in the domestic US. The DreamPower Team is comprised of community, corporate and industry leaders who are dedicated to our mission, and selflessly give of themselves to ensure that people with special needs can enjoy our programs. Our PATH certified therapeutic riding instructors conduct all of the sessions on horses specially selected and trained for this type of therapeutic program.

Why Therapeutic Riding?

Individuals with almost any cognitive, physical and/or emotional disability can benefit from therapeutic riding, driving, competition or other purposeful, safe and supervised interaction with equines. Because horseback riding gently and rhythmically moves the rider's body in a manner similar to a human gait, riders with physical disabilities often show improvement in flexibility, balance and muscle strength. For individuals with mental or emotional disabilities, the unique relationship formed with the horse can lead to increased confidence, patience and self-esteem. Therapeutic riding gives many of our students the opportunity to set aside their crutches, wheelchairs and disabilities as they settle into the saddle.

Therapy experts have found that individuals with challenges respond to the horses with an enthusiasm that can't be matched in the traditional clinical environment.  Our horses accept each individual unconditionally and the strong bond that soon develops becomes a vital part of therapy.
